We originated as a corporation on Long Island, New York 30 years ago.
Universal Floor has installed and refinished hardwood flooring
for many years. We worked on Fire Island in New York for William Katen (builder) back
in the 1980's. Not everyone has the experience of working on an island in 20 degree
weather every winter. We do!
There are no vehicles (no private cars allowed)
on Fire Island! Our mechanics traveled by boat and walked to the job site with
their equipment. We are proud to have the same hardwood flooring mechanic working
on hardwood floors in Central Florida today.

What kind of experience do we have besides that?
We have mechanics that have Home Depot Flooring Management training behind them
and also have worked on Habitat for Humanity homes. They have also held the
title of "Professional Business Representative" for Home Depot. This training
goes back to the early 1980's.
Why are we in Florida?
We like the Sunshine State! We will always be
loyal to our home roots too!

We started on Long Island, New York working in many celebrity homes installing wood floors
in East Hampton, Southampton, Westhampton, Bridgehampton, Fire Island and all over
the East End of Long Island. We had the pleasure of doing custom hardwood stain colors, hardwood
floor installation and refinishing for celebrities.
Steven Spielberg
and his business partner,David Geffen
among celebrities in the "Hamptons." We worked in Mr. Geffen's beach home in 1995 & Mr. Spielberg's Island home in the 1980's. The same wood flooring mechanic can do your floors today!

For those of you not familiar with Long Island, New York some photos may explain it best.
It is surrounded by water (water is 10 minutes away on each side of the island)
and that is why we have expertise in moisture testing and water damage to hardwood flooring.

own a home in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York! Tiger's home (Tiger's left, Jerry's right) was only 65 million!

Our company held the most banquet, nightclub & hotel hardwood accounts on Long Island.
We managed 90 percent of the catering business there with hardwood flooring
services including exotic inlay design of ballrooms. That accomplishment
gave us our name in the hardwood flooring industry.
The competition was great, but we continued to corner the market on hardwood
floor services. Our reputation still stands today after 30 years in hardwood flooring.
Now in Florida for many years, we continue to serve our hardwood floor customers well
and with an extreme amount of pride in the work we have done.
Our hardwood restoration work is an important part of our job because it brings back the
beauty of the past. It is so rewarding to see hardwood floors brought back to
their original state. We are proud to do that for our community as well as others.
We want to help our neighboring communities like DeBary with flood and water damage to
their hardwood floors.
The photo below is LaSalle Military Academy on Long Island which is now
St. John's University. We spent a lot of time every year with historic restoration
of the wood floors back to their natural state.
